Bulgaria is Black Sea beaches, mountains, and ancient towns at bargain prices. Pack layers for varied terrain, beachwear for the coast, and good shoes for cobbles and trails.

Bulgaria uses the lev (BGN), pegged to the euro (euro adoption is planned — check the current status). Cards are common in cities; carry cash for markets and rural spots. Decline 'dynamic currency conversion'. Tipping ~10%.
