When to go
Spring (Mar–May) and autumn (Sep–Nov) are ideal — warm but not brutal. Summer is very hot, especially at Petra and in the desert; winter is cool and can be cold at night. Petra is busiest midday.
Money & getting around
Jordan uses the dinar (JOD), one of the world's higher-value currencies — prices feel small but aren't. Carry cash for taxis, markets, and small towns; cards work in cities and hotels. Haggling is normal in souks. The Jordan Pass (buy before arrival) bundles Petra and the visa — worth it.
