When to go
The dry season (Jun–Oct) is peak — wildlife crowds the waterholes and lodges book out months ahead. Shoulder months (Apr–May, Nov) are quieter and green. Summer rains (Dec–Mar) scatter the game but bring dramatic skies.
Money & getting around
Namibia uses the Namibian dollar (NAD), pegged 1:1 to the South African rand — rand is accepted everywhere. Cards work in towns and lodges; carry cash for fuel stations and small stops on road-trip routes. Most visitors self-drive: distances are huge, roads are gravel, and rental excess insurance is worth every cent.
